Working in partnership as Visit Hull and East Yorkshire (VHEY)

East Riding of Yorkshire Council and Hull City Council work together, as the VHEY tourism partnership, to develop and promote tourism in our area.

VHEY becomes Local Visitor Economy Partnership

We are delighted to announce that VHEY have been recognised as 1 of 12 of the first Local Visitor Economy Partnerships. This recognition follows the creation of LVEPs as part of the UK Government’s response to the recommendations of ‘The de Bois Review: an independent review of DMOs in England,’ to reshape destination management across England, reducing fragmentation and bringing coherence to its DMO landscape. This will allow VHEY to access be able to access expert advice, dedicated toolkits and training programmes, targeting their needs, from VisitBritain/VisitEngland in areas ranging from distribution, accessibility and sustainability to business support and marketing. An important strand of support will be highlighting available Government funding streams as well as developing and providing a ‘toolkit’ to help with bids to those streams.

DRAFT VHEY Destination Plan Consultation

In 2021 Government commissioned an independent review of destination management across the UK, The ‘De Bois Review’. As a result of the findings and recommendations Visit England are now seeking to level up the national tourism landscape by taking forward the development of accredited Local Visitor Economy Partnerships. Therefore, transforming Visit Hull and East Yorkshire’s long-standing partnership into a Government accredited ‘Local Visitor Economy Partnership’ is an integral part of this Destination Management Plan.
