What is the Supply Chain Network?

The Supply Chain Network is a free online platform for businesses to use to find suppliers, promote their products and services, find new opportunities/clients and display their commitment to using local supply chains wherever possible.

All of this is achieved through three main tools the Supplier Directory, the Opportunities Map and the Supply Chain Promise.

Supplier Directory: By creating a listing for your business, you showcase your products and services, increase your visibility to the right audiences, and generate new enquiries. You will also receive email alerts about new opportunities relevant to your business.

Opportunities Map: Use this function to share tender opportunities and quotation requests with potential suppliers as well as look for those you are interested in tendering for yourself.

The Supply Chain Promise: A way to demonstrate your commitment to supporting the growth of our economy, supporting net zero targets, and promoting social value benefits.

What are the benefits as a supplier of products or services to businesses?

  • Being listed in and using the Supplier Directory allows businesses to get their business-to-business offer seen by more businesses for free.
  • The direct messaging service allows businesses to quickly contact other business who may be interested in what they have to offer/supply, avoiding the need to cold call.

What are the benefits as a buyer of products or services?

  • Finding and using local suppliers strengthens the visitor economy and enhances the overall visitor experience by highlighting the community's unique offerings and supporting sustainable practices.
  • The Supply Chain Promise supports the buy local/shop local ethos as part of the tourism sustainability agenda.
  • Signing up to the Supply Chain Promise and listing opportunities on the Opportunities Map raises a business’s profile to other businesses and allows them to evidence that they are interested in sourcing responsibly, using local suppliers.
  • The email notification function saves businesses time having to search for opportunities and suppliers.
  • Listing opportunities on the Opportunities Map is quick and can bring multiple suppliers to the business in one go, rather than having to contact them all separately, which is especially useful when in peak season.
  • Use The Supply Chain Network to build a backup bench of local suppliers (catering, maintenance, print, AV etc) before you need them. Using local suppliers can permit smaller or ad hoc quantity orders to meet your needs, menu, event etc or if there is an unexpected spike in demand for a certain product.
  • A quick supplier refresh expression of interest opportunity can take under 15 minutes to add to the Opportunities Map and response will come direct to the email address you’ve specified.
